Tulip is Gujarati and Armenian both together as Her mother was born in Lebanon and later moved to India. Tulip had her schooling in mumbai, She has attended the Jamnabai Narsee School, and later Mithibai College. She graduated in food science and chemistry. She was excellent in sports at the National level.
Tulip has participated in the Femina Miss India Contest in 2000. Though she did not win any title but she was noticed by many advertising agencies. Because of which she appeared in number of advertising campaigns for big brands (Ponds, Pepsi, Siyaram, BPL, Smirnoff and lot more). She also appeared in a music video made as a tribute to Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.
