‘Velayudham’ is a forthcoming action packed romantic Tamil language film directed by Jayam Raja and produced by Venu Ravi Chandran under the banner of Aascar Films, while the film's soundtrack is expected to be composed by Vijay Antony. ‘Velayudham' is reported to be a remake of Telugu movie ‘Azad’ that had Nagarjuna (as Chandra Sekhar Azaad or Azaad, who is the protector of common man), bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty (as Kanaka Mahalakshmi) and Late actress Soundarya (as a journalist named Anjali, who is harassed by the misdeeds of Deva, the most influential person and an underworld mafia don in the city). However, 'Velayudham’ director Jayam Raja strongly puts up that it's his story and not a remake of Azad or any other films.
